Between the land and the sky

The Region

Mação is a land of mountains and forests. Stunning landscapes, pristine nature, water flowing through the valleys, clean air and strong winds make everything here different. Time and space have a different meaning, peace and balance emerge naturally, and it becomes possible to see everything differently.
It is a land of strong and resilient people, of traditions that endure, of a history that never fades, and of a future that is carefully prepared.

Work remotely

How about a different work experience, in a setting where stress stays on the other side of the screen? Where breaks are for enjoying the little details and the end of the day is for strolling through the forest or trying the local cuisine. Where meetings smell of the lunch grilling on the barbecue next door.
Quality of life and balance don't have to wait for holidays – here, they are present all year round. The facilities have broadband internet service for exclusive use. If you need a second monitor, we can also provide one upon prior request.

Adrenaline is needed

Some of us crave intense emotions, adrenaline in our veins, and the smell of burnt fuel in the air. Mação is paradise for off-road enthusiasts. There are no flat terrains here, and the forest tracks are endless. The locals don’t complain, and traffic doesn’t get in the way. We even have MAC TT, Mação’s off-road club, which organizes various events throughout the year and can be contacted if you need help choosing your routes.

Miguel, the municipal museums of Mação and Vila de Rei, the Museu da Escola da Fundada, the Museu do Fogo e da Resina, the Geodesy Museum, or private initiatives such as the Museu das Aldeias or Lagar da Ferrugenta allow you to travel back in time and get to know better what our land was like and the people who lived there.
